WSF Board of Directors Application

On behalf of everyone here at the Western Star Foundation, thank you so much for your interest in board service. We know that those with an interest in being a leadership volunteer have many choices. In our community, there are an array of remarkable organizations engaged in the important work of making our world a better place. We are humbled to know that you are interested in our organization.

The following application offers us an opportunity to know more about you, your skills, attributes and what you would bring to our board. It also gives you a sense of what matters to us in any board candidate.

The goal of our process is to determine if we are a good fit for each other. Through this application, we will delve into what motivates you, what you think about our organization, and how we can help each other to create an excellent board experience for you.

MISSION: The Western Star Foundation, Inc. facilitates and supports sustainable solutions for educational initiatives and leadership, professional, and workforce development for Williston Area Chamber of Commerce Members and the Williston Community. 

OPEN SEATS: There are four open seats this year. New Board Directors shall serve a 2-year term beginning December 2025 and will be eligible for a second 2-year term beginning December 2027. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Williston Area Chamber of Commerce member in good standing (individual or employer)
  • Desire to support all Chamber members, the entire business community, and the region as a whole to foster growth
  • Attend monthly meetings

Time
Board service is a true commitment of time and energy. To ensure that we can meet quorum and conduct meeting business in a timely manner, we ask that each Board Director attend one (1) board meeting per month (First Tuesday of each month at 12:00 p.m.). A Board Director may be considered for removal if absent from three (3) consecutive meetings or five (5) meetings total during a twelve (12) month period.

Board service is a true commitment of time and energy.
