Did you know the James Memorial Art Center building was originally built to be Williston's first library? The library opened on February 27, 1911, and was used as a library until 1983. In 1993, a concerned group of citizens formed the James Memorial Preservation Society to save the historic building and develop it into a center for the visual arts. The James Memorial Preservation Society leased the building from the city and assumed full financial responsibility for the maintenance and repair of the building to hold art exhibitions and activities.
The James building is available for rent for private events and meetings. Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday 9-3 and Friday 12-5. Be sure to check out their website for upcoming events! https://trst.in/S3FX4W
